Manufacturers of ALPHA-Lo™ low alpha lead, lead alloys, and lead-free alloys for the semiconductor industry

Pure Technologies was founded in 1994. The company brings together successful American marketing and business skills and superior Russian technology in metals science. Pure Technologies' principal mission is the manufacture of low radioactive lead, ultra-low and super ultra-low (Pb), lead-tin alloys, and lead-free solder, to reduce or eliminate alpha particle induced soft errors in electronic devices incorporating high speed microprocessors and integrated circuits, especially memory and logic devices.

Pure Technologies produces its Alpha-Lo™ products with a proprietary process . Customized low alpha solutions are offered for industry requiring other metals, including lead-free solders and rare earths. Product sales, marketing and distribution world-wide is managed at Pure Technologies Operations Center in Atlanta, Georgia USA.

Through its proprietary technology, Pure Technologies' has developedAlpha-Lo™ . Alpha-Lo™is a purified form of lead (Pb) and lead alloy that exhibit and retain low alpha particle emission qualities. Pure Technologies is generally recognized as one of very few commercial producers of low radioactive lead products with an alpha emitter less than 0.002 alpha counts per hour per square centimeter. Pure Technologies' super ultra-low alpha products reach as low as <0.0004 alpha counts per hour per square centimeter (cph/cm2).

Alpha-Lo™ is a highly purified form of lead (Pb), lead/tin and lead-free  alloy that exhibit and retain, at certified stable levels, its low alpha particle emission qualities

MANAGEMENT:

Jerald (Jerry) Cohn was born on May 27, 1938 in Columbus, Georgia in the United States of America.  He attendedthe Georgia Institute of Technology ("Georgia Tech") in Atlanta, Georgia from September 1956 until June 1960, graduating with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree with Sanitary Engineering (Environmental Engineering) option.

Following his graduation from Georgia Tech, Mr. Cohn was associated with his grandfather who owned a large home building and land development company in the Miami (Dade County), Florida area.  Mr. Cohn served as Assistant to the President of David M. Woolin and Son, Inc. and also as Chief Engineer of the South Miami Heights Public Utilities Corporation and was involved in all aspects of community real estate development including home building, commercial construction and the construction and operation of water and sewerage systems.

In late 1963 he returned to Columbus Georgia, his hometown, and formed his own homebuilding company, J.Cohn Construction Company.  The company grew each year and in 1969 also began building in the Atlanta, Georgia housing market.  In 1972 Mr.Cohn phased out the Columbus building program and moved the company to Atlanta.  In 1973, Mr. Cohn changed the name of his company to Cohn Communities, Inc. to better describe the company's activities in planning, designing, developing, building and operating multi-use projects which contained different types of housing, child-care facilities, recreational amenities and commercial areas.

In 1985 the real estate division of Merrill-Lynch negotiated the sale of Cohn Communities, Inc. to Beazer PLC, a worldwide, diversified construction company based in Bath, England and one of the largest homebuilding companies in the U.K. As part of the negotiations Mr. Cohn agreed to be employed by Beazer for five years.  In 1987 Jerry Cohn formed Beazer Properties, Inc., a divisional holding company responsible for all of Beazer PLC's residential, commercial and industrial real estate building and development in the United States. Mr. Cohn was responsible for the acquisition of additional companies into Beazer Properties and opened offices in Nashville, Charlotte, Charleston, San Francisco and Newport Beach.

A year after fulfilling his 5-year contract with the Beazer organization, Mr. Cohn resigned to once again head his own company. Mr. Cohn founded Cohn Investments, Inc. in July 1991 to utilize his 30 years of experience in developing, building and marketing more than 10,000 single family homes having a total value in excess of $1 billion, apartments, office buildings shopping centers and industrial projects. Mr. Cohn earned a reputation of honesty, professionalism and quality of character with his peers in the development and construction industry, businessmen, professionals, and customers with whom he did business.

Following 30 years as a successful businessman and owner of one of the largest homebuilding and development companies in Georgia, in 1994 Jerald Cohn founded Pure Technologies together with some of the world’s leading scientists in metal technology. Commercial applications using metal processing technology have been developed by the Pure Technologies organization and full production and export of low alpha specialty metals and elements for the semiconductor industry worldwide began in 1997. Pure Technologies has headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Pure Technologies’ research and development, production and testing is located in the Ural region of Russia, 650 miles east of Moscow, in the City of Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic.

CEL  created a company, Pure Technologies,  with some of the world’s leading scientists in laser metal technology.  Commercial applications using metal processing technology have been developed by the Pure Technologies organization and full production and export of specialty metals and elements for the semiconductor industry worldwide began in 1997.

New generation semiconductor production requires special, high purity, ultra-low alpha emitting materials.  Pure Technologies has the proven, proprietary know-how, vast raw materials deposits and experience and is producing and will continue to produce these special materials reliably, in great volume and at a lower cost to industry.  Some of Pure Technologies’ customers for its low alpha emitting lead, lead/tin alloys and other products include IBM, Texas Instruments, Mitsubishi, Endicott Interconnect, Harimatech, Agilent Technologies, Hitachi, Samsung, Matsubo, MicroFab, Motorola, AMKOR, Kester, Welco, Balzers, Cookson Electronics,   Rohm & Haas Electronic Materials, Woowon Technology, Enthone, W. C Heraeus GmbH and other semiconductor manufacturing and solder manufacturing companies.
